The Happy Lunar New Year event is organized to celebrate Tết Nguyên Đán — the most important traditional festival in Vietnam. This celebration brings students together to welcome the Lunar New Year in a warm, joyful, and culturally meaningful atmosphere.

A central part of the event is a Vietnamese Tết potluck, where participants bring and share homemade traditional dishes such as spring rolls, sticky rice cakes, and other festive foods. In addition, the program features Vietnamese traditional folk games, allowing participants to experience cultural traditions through interactive and joyful activities.

The event aims to create a sense of home away from home for students spending Lunar New Year abroad, while also introducing Vietnamese culture and traditions to international friends.
