After the Ballot: U.S. Elections and Their Impact on Multilateral Cooperation

The presidential election in the United States is currently all over the news and social media. Americans will have the last chance to cast their ballot on 5 November, and in the following days, we will discover the newly elected 47th U.S. president.

Have you ever wondered how the election results might affect the current democratic system and what impact they might have beyond U.S. borders, when it comes to multilateral cooperation? And would you like to know more about the role of the media and public perception in the election campaign?

We have the perfect event for you! On 12 November, UNYA Ghent invites two experts who will analyze the past election and look ahead to the impact of the results.

📣 Koen Vidal – U.S. expert at De Standaard, will delve into the role of media during the elections and will explore the impact of the results on the democratic system.

📣 Fiel Vanthemsche – Deputy Permanent Representative of Belgium to NATO, will share his insights on the multilateral implications of the elections.

Afterwards, you can engage with the experts and ask them your questions during an interactive Q&A session.
