The Biomedical Student Council (BSR) represents the voice of all Biomedical Sciences students at Ghent University. The council is composed of an executive board, year representatives, and members of the general assembly. Together, we are committed to enhancing the student experience, supporting students’ mental well-being, and safeguarding the quality of education. We do this on the one hand by making sure students’ voices are heard in decision-making bodies such as the program committee. On the other hand, we also take our own initiatives, such as conducting surveys on topics like major allocation, course workload, internationalization, and mental health. In this way, we can map out concerns and needs directly and communicate them back to the program and the faculty. In addition, we serve as a point of contact for students with questions, concerns, or ideas, and we organize activities that bring students closer together and strengthen the sense of community.
