Detailpage Gent Model United Nations

The association’s goal is to provide political and diplomatic education to students in Ghent. The association aims to raise these students’ awareness of international politics in all its aspects. The association does this primarily, though not exclusively, by introducing students to diplomatic simulations such as Model United Nations and Model European Union simulations, as well as activities to prepare for participation in such conferences, and all activities necessary for the successful organization of such diplomatic simulations. Furthermore, the association organizes all kinds of activities to develop political and diplomatic skills, as well as activities to promote social cohesion among its members. In addition, the association’s goal is to bring as many young people as possible into contact with the international community and the spirit of the United Nations. Promoting as much interaction as possible between different cultures also contributes to this goal.
