Beschrijving

Mary Ann Manahan is a Filipina feminist activist researcher working with social movements and communities for social justice, equity, equality and just transformation.
During this evening, Mary Ann Manahan will tell us the story of multilateralism as the prevailing model for the global governance of nature and climate. She points out the continuation of colonial legacies wherein the protection of “uninhabited wilderness” has a central place and how market-bases “solutions” created new euphemisms such as nature-based solutions and nature-positive futures.
After the introduction by Mary Ann Manahan there will be room for discussion and conversation.
We hope to welcome you in our candle-light filled room, like always the night is freely accessible. The evening will take place in English. There will be drinks and lots of love. Before the talk, we also serve nice and heart-warming soup for a free contribution. We open at 18:00 and the soup is served around 19:00.
