Beschrijving
We can finally present you our first and second seminar of the semester! Professor Gert Buelens will host two seminars, or rather two parts of one big seminar. Both of the seminars are free of charge for both members and non-members as our host is employed at Ugent.
The seminars aim to give more insight into creative writing and the writing process. The first covers ‘Writing About What You Know’, the second covers ‘Writing About What You Don’t Know.
Writing about what you know—and do not know: a hands-on workshop in creative writing. This workshop will feature several exercises that help you explore and hone your creative writing skills. Its basic premise is that good writing is a mixture of writing about what you know, for which good observation of the world around you is essential, and what you do not (yet) know, or do not consciously realise that you know, the unearthing of which requires a certain degree of “letting go.”
- Professor Gert Buelens
If you can only make it to one of the seminars, that is not an issue! As the seminars can be useful separately.
Prof. Dr. Gert Buelens is a professor of English and American literature at Ghent University. His courses include English Literature III: American Literature, History and Culture of Anglo-Saxon Countries and English Literature I. He is an honorary member of our student society.
